I was inspired by the magical, whimsical look of Barbie: Mariposa and Barbie: Fairytopia, think dreamy wings, sparkling petals, and fairy-tale colours. Not to be confused with a forest flower fairy vibe, (that would be more green) although I would sooo love to create a set like that too, so if you want to live that nail dream for me, please get in touch! The set itself was such a joy to make. I designed the thumb and pinky nails in a bold, solid bright pink and embellished them with Aurora Boreale crystals to give them that enchanting sparkle. The pointer and ring nails were created in a light shimmer pink, layered with sparkle flakes, and ombréd into the same bright pink for a seamless, glowing effect. The middle fingers became the statement nails, featuring the light shimmer pink as a base with encapsulated dried flowers for a delicate, ethereal touch. To complete the design, I sculpted half of a large white 3D flower with wide, soft petals and accented it with AB crystals clustered in the centre to mimic the magical glow of fairy dust. This set has to be one of my absolute favourites I’ve made so far, it perfectly captures that dreamy, fairy-inspired aesthetic while letting me combine different techniques like ombré, encapsulation, and 3D work. For the base, I created a marbled design using different shades of pink and burgundy, which blended together beautifully to give a rich, elegant background with lots of depth and variation. On top of this base, I sculpted a larger 3D flower as the main feature, complete with delicate leaves to frame the petals and add balance to the design. To enhance the look and give it that extra sparkle, I placed an Aurora Boreale crystal in the centre of the flower, which caught the light perfectly. It was such an exciting moment in my nail journey because it made me fall even more in love with sculpting 3D flowers and adding intricate details to nails. Both nails are sculpted in acrylic, one in a Russian almond shape and the other in a coffin shape. I designed them with a stunning turquoise marble effect as the base, giving each nail depth and a soft, flowing movement. On top of that, I sculpted delicate 3D flowers and leaves, carefully layering each petal and detail to make them pop off the nail. To finish, I added Aurora Boreale crystals in the centre of each flower, catching the light beautifully and adding a sparkling focal point. I absolutely adore working on 3D designs like this, there’s something so satisfying about turning a flat nail into a tiny piece of art with texture, dimension, and sparkle. I sculpted each one using a clear acrylic base, which gave me a clean foundation to build on and let the designs shine through. The first nail was an extremely long stiletto, where I experimented with a bold triple-colour ombré. I blended lemon yellow into a soft peach, and then transitioned into a hot pink at the tip. The fade of colours created such a striking, summery look, and I loved how vibrant and smooth the transition turned out. The middle nail was sculpted into a coffin shape, with a pink marble effect created by swirling together different shades of pink and white. I added sparkle flakes to the mix, which gave the marble a glowing, almost ethereal dimension. The last nail was also a coffin shape, this time in a soft blush pink base with sparkle flakes for a delicate shimmer. To make it extra special, I embedded dried flowers into the design, giving it a romantic, elegant feel that really stood out. I designed them as nude-based press-ons, which gave me a clean and versatile canvas to really make the artwork stand out. I hand-painted delicate yellow roses across the nails, pairing them with soft sap green leaves to bring the design to life. To add depth and contrast, I used fine black pen detailing to sketch around the flowers, giving them that artistic, almost illustrated effect. Even though she isn’t someone who normally gets her nails done, she couldn’t stop admiring them and kept telling me how much she enjoyed wearing them. It was so lovely to see her step a little outside her comfort zone and actually feel excited about having her nails done.
