In this creative session, you’ll learn how to form quilted letters using free-motion techniques, perfect for adding names, words, or phrases to quilts, cushions, and other textile projects.
Bethany will guide you through preparing designs, controlling machine movement, and building confidence with lettering styles. You’ll also explore spacing, layout, and how to achieve balanced, expressive stitched words.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with stitched samples and the confidence to incorporate free-motion lettering into your own quilting projects.
What to bring
Basic sewing kit (scissors, pins/clips, thread, seam ripper, etc.)
Fabric for practising lettering (details will be provided in your booking confirmation email)
Any fabrics you’d like to personalise in your project
Some items are available to purchase in our shop and can be ordered online in advance or bought on the day.
Sewing Machine Hire
If you need to use one of our sewing machines, please add Sewing Machine Hire (£5) to your booking when reserving your place. Machines are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
Fabric Kit
A fabric kit is available for £10, or you are welcome to bring your own fabric (requirements will be included in your booking confirmation email).
