At So Northern Creative Art Studios, you will find our beautiful handmade items that are perfect gifts for any occasion in our shop. All of our products are designed by our talented in-house artist Bethany from her original artwork and illustrations.

We also offer a range of art classes that will allow your imagination and confidence to burst open and explore a new way of allowing your creativity out. Even if you think that you are not creative or arty, come along to one of our classes and you are guaranteed to go home with something amazing that you have made and will treasure forever!

Many people think that they can't make anything arty and quite often it is because they lack the confidence in both themselves and their abilities, so we remind them of the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz because all he needed was a bit of courage and then he was 'King of the Forest', this can be applied to art as well because you will be amazed at what a bit of creative courage will do!

My name is Bethany and I made So Northern CAS to help bring more creativity into peoples lives. I truly believe that being creative generally makes you happier.

I'm a Fine Art graduate and I primarily do painting and art journalling but I enjoy lots of different crafts, such as: sewing, both machine and hand but I prefer machine stitching. I like to crochet but I haven't done it for ages! I need to get back at it!

I have been stamp carving for many years, since my first year at university, I really like challenging myself to create and design more complex designs, I really like carving words and alphabets. For Christmas one year I carved joined up words of 'Merry' and 'Christmas', it was quite difficult to get it right at first but the result was totally worth it!

I bought an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil last year and since then, I haven't really done much in my art journals and actually painting with real brushes and things, which is really sad in a way but I really enjoy creating on my iPad in the Procreate app. I got a new art journal for Christmas and I played in it and had so much fun after ages being all digital on my iPad, it's like it was a brand new experience but also familiar.
