Making A Quilted Thread Sampler
This week at So Northern Quilting, I’m making a quilted thread sampler for the shop!
First of all, I’m sorry for not posting for nearly three weeks. I lost my hard drive with everything on it, so I wasn’t able to edit or upload anything until I found it. It was in the car of all places!
In this vlog, I’m showing you how I made the thread sampler from start to finish. It isn’t really a tutorial, but I take you through the whole process, starting with sketching ideas in my sketchbook and on my iPad, then moving on to choosing the thread colours and quilting each section.
I’m using 10 different Madeira Polyneon threads, including black, white, grey, yellow, pink, green, purpley blue, turquoisey blue, red-ish variegated and turquoise/green variegated. I’m also trying out the quilting gloves while stitching to see how they feel when moving the fabric around the machine.
All of the threads and quilting gloves featured in this video are available in our shop, so this sampler is also a lovely way to show how they stitch out in real life.
Hope you enjoy the video!
